As a surveyor, you will use Geographic Information Systems, or smart maps that can examine, analyze and explain numerous layers of information in new ways. The real power behind GIS is that it links information and location through the combining of databases and maps, making it increasingly beneficial to industries like building and road construction, real estate and the military. You’ll be able to see what others won’t, which will have you potentially seeing better job opportunities.

You’ll learn to use the latest in GIS, GPS and Geodetic surveying software and hardware. The hands-on coursework includes subject areas such as plane surveying, boundary analysis, computer-aided mapping, as well as related courses including computer programming, databases and computer aided drafting. Upon completion of the course, you’ll be able to perform accurate data collection and analysis, demonstrate top computer aided drafting skills and use computer mapping and databases in multiple applications.
