(HARLINGEN, Texas) – For more than 235 Texas State Technical College graduates, it was a rewarding moment as they walked across the stage at the South Padre Island Convention Center and received certificates of completion or associate degrees at TSTC’s Spring 2024 Commencement on Tuesday, April 30.

Eladio Jaimez, provost at TSTC’s Harlingen location, welcomed the graduates and told them that the ceremony was the beginning of a new chapter.

“We are proud that our graduates have accomplished this milestone,” he said. “It’s a privilege to share this joyous moment with them and their families.”

Allison Agundiz, of Donna, graduated with a certificate of completion in Auto Collision Repair.

“My instructors made my education worthwhile,” she said. “(They) pushed my skills and made me a better technician.”

Daniel Julian Maciel, of Harlingen, graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology.

“It’s an unreal feeling that I just graduated,” he said. “(My family) motivated me through this journey.”

Diana Rocha, of Los Fresnos, graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

“It feels amazing that I completed my college journey at TSTC,” she said. “Graduating from a prestigious college and program made it special.”
