East Williamson County Precision Machining Technology

(HUTTO, Texas) – Bill Goss began teaching this semester in the Precision Machining Technology program at Texas State Technical College in East Williamson County.

Goss grew up in Houston and moved to Austin after graduating from high school. He completed a four-year precision machining apprenticeship sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor and went on to work for more than 40 years in the industry, eventually becoming a journeyman machinist.

What made you decide to pursue teaching in TSTC’s Precision Machining Technology program?

My favorite part of my last job was teaching others about machining and mechanical drawings. It gave me great satisfaction seeing others learn and succeed. So I was immediately drawn to this opportunity at TSTC as it afforded me the chance to teach what I love doing full time.
