East Williamson County Fall 2023 Commencement

(HUTTO, Texas) – More than 30 graduates from Texas State Technical College’s East Williamson County campus received associate degrees or certificates of completion at TSTC’s Fall 2023 Commencement held Monday, Dec. 4, at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Round Rock.

“I’m particularly excited that so many students in our high-demand industries found work before graduation,” said Hunter Henry, TSTC’s Career Services coordinator for the East Williamson County campus.

Jose Mendiola, of Leander, received a certificate of completion from the Welding Technology program. He said he was grateful for all the welding work he did in the program.

Watching him graduate were his mother, sisters and boss.

“It’s pretty exciting getting something over with,” Mendiola said.

Mendiola is working at Southern Son’s Fabrication & Welding in the Austin area. The company specializes in container, staircase and handrail work.

Caleb Musick, of Round Rock, received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Precision Machining Technology.

“It feels good,” he said about graduating. “It’s a weight lifted off in putting in the hours and hard work.”

Musick said he is grateful to his program instructors for letting him make mistakes in classes.

“They have been easy to talk to,” he said. “They have been a lot of help. I’m leaving with a lot more experience than I came in with.”

Musick is working at ESP Spares Inc., an industrial equipment supplier in Georgetown.
