(ROSENBERG, Texas) – Thirteen Automotive Technology students in the Tesla START program at Texas State Technical College’s Fort Bend County location were honored at their graduation ceremony held at TSTC’s Brazos Center on Friday, May 10.
Each graduate received an advanced technical certificate in Automotive Tesla START Technician.
The program is a collaboration between TSTC and Tesla START that offers an intensive 16-week electric vehicle service training program designed to equip students with the skills necessary for a successful career with Tesla.
Upon graduation, students who successfully complete the nationwide program are eligible to work at one of Tesla’s service centers across the country.
Michael Jay, one of the instructors in the program, led the ceremony.
“I’d tell each of the students to keep pushing, keep striving,” Jay said. “At the end of the program, I’m very happy to say that each put in a lot of hard work and has earned high honors in their program.”
The valedictorian for the graduating class, Victor Rangel, also gave words of encouragement to his peers and fellow graduates.
“Looking back, each hard moment pushed me to keep moving forward,” he said. “No matter the circumstances, we each worked hard to get here. Congratulations to our class, and let’s get to work.”
After handing out the certificates, Jay finished by reminding each of the students that they will always be a part of the START program and TSTC.
