(RED OAK, Texas) – Students who are enrolling at Texas State Technical College’s North Texas location for the fall semester can apply for a variety of scholarships.
“Our partners that provide scholarship dollars to our students are critical to the success of our students,” said Marcus Balch, TSTC’s provost in North Texas. “In very unsettling economic times, students often struggle to make ends meet.”
Balch said scholarships are available for students to help pay for tools, tuition, and transportation to and from the college’s Red Oak location on North Lowrance Road.
“Many students would be forced to leave school without this funding source,” Balch said.
Scholarships are available for students who live in Midlothian and Red Oak, as well as for new and current students working on a certificate of completion or an associate degree in the HVAC Technology program. There are also scholarships available for students in the Precision Machining Technology program.
“We know times are tough, and we want to make sure our students do not have to think about the financial struggles they have,” said Megan Redmond, TSTC’s team lead for enrollment in North Texas. “We do not want there to be a barrier to school.”
TSTC’s North Texas location offers a variety of online, in-person and hybrid programs. Among these are Computer Networking and Systems Administration, Computer Programming Technology, Diesel Equipment Technology, and Welding Technology.
“Application counts are trending up, and the enrollment team is working hard to help these applicants complete the process to register,” Balch said. “Our campus is also seeing an upward trend in dual credit students coming to campus and customized workforce training programs on our campus.”
Registration continues for the fall semester at TSTC. For more information, go to tstc.edu.
