(HUTTO, Texas) – Graduates from Texas State Technical College’s East Williamson County campus crossed the stage with cheer and high hopes for the new year.
Students graduated with associate degrees or certificates of completion during TSTC’s Fall 2024 Commencement held Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor. The ceremony was attended by 28 graduates representing nine programs.
Austin West, from Georgetown, received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Industrial Systems.
“I spent the last two months at my internship with ICU Medical,” West said. “It went well. I start full time in January with a major pay increase. My benefits start immediately in January too.”
Maria Martinez, from Bryan-College Station, received her Associate of Applied degree in Digital Media Design. Currently she works for Centurion Solutions LLC, a risk management and risk mitigation consulting firm in College Station, and aspires to transition to publishing.
“I completed my degree online because College Station was too far from any TSTC campus to attend in person,” Martinez said. “I do social media and designs at Centurion. I’m already working in my field that way.”
Braeden Palomino, from Hutto, received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Programming Technology. He also completed his education online and is ready to advance in his field.
“I’m doing contract work for TSTC right now,” Palomino said. “I did an internship and liked it a lot. It would be great to do more here (at TSTC).”
Kelly Coke, provost of TSTC’s East Williamson County campus, presented the graduates with their diplomas.
“We are so proud of our graduates and the impact they are going to make on Texas industries,” Coke said.
Registration continues for the spring semester at TSTC. For more information, go to tstc.edu.
