Scholarships are a great way to help pay for your education. They are generally awarded for academic excellence, but can also include financial need, involvement in activities, leadership or work experience.
Unlike loans, scholarships do not have to be repaid but may have specific criteria for you to remain eligible. These criteria may include maintaining a certain grade point average, staying enrolled in a certain number of class hours or majoring in a specific program.
To be eligible for most need-based scholarships, you are required to complete the FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov. After your FAFSA is processed the Financial Aid Office will review your file and alert you if meet the general criteria for any TSTC Scholarships. Should you meet the criteria, you may be asked to complete a scholarship application.
