Job Location & Development Program
Build Your Talent Pipeline—Before Graduation
There is no better way to ensure your future workforce has top-notch skills than by engaging students before they graduate. Through Texas State Technical College’s Job Location and Development (JLD) Program, employers can connect with skilled, motivated students seeking internships, co-ops, and part-time opportunities while completing their technical training.

TSTC partners with employers to offer both internships and co-operative experiences:
- Internships may be paid or unpaid and are typically completed while students are enrolled in classes. These experiences allow students to observe and apply the skills they’ve learned in a real-world work environment.
- Co-operatives (Co-ops) are paid, more immersive experiences that usually require students to take a semester away from classes. Co-ops focus on intensive, hands-on application of skills combined with on-the-job training.
Internships and co-ops allow employers to:
- Evaluate student skills and assess future potential
- Recruit with little to no risk
- Save time and hiring costs
- Develop a reliable, job-ready talent pipeline
Internship and co-op structures may vary by campus and program. Through the Job Location and Development Program, employers receive support in developing and launching internship, co-op, and part-time opportunities that meet both business and student needs.
To explore internship, co-op, or part-time opportunities, employers are encouraged to start with the Job Location and Development Program.
