(RED OAK, Texas) – Some high school seniors who are planning to attend Texas State Technical College’s North Texas campus beginning in the fall signed letters of intent on April 20, which was National CTE (career and technical education) Letter of Intent Signing Day.
In all, 13 future TSTC students visited the campus to affirm their plans to enroll.
TSTC student recruitment and enrollment staff members put together an event to celebrate the incoming students that provided students with photo opportunities, snacks, and time to celebrate their decision with friends and family.
Victor Ramirez, lead instructor for North Texas’ Drafting and Design program, began the event with a speech to welcome the students to TSTC.
“You have all chosen to continue your path to great-paying careers throughout Texas through technical education and training,” he said. “Today we honor your commitment.”
Participants were then presented the opportunity to sign their letters of intent and to celebrate. Music played in the background, tours were given, and introductions were made to enrollment coaches, recruiters and future instructors.
“I believe that (signing day) makes (students) feel like they are headed in the right direction for a bright future,” Jessica Canales, student recruitment coordinator for TSTC’s North Texas campus, said. “It also helps them feel welcomed and supported.”
Faculty and staff joined in on the celebration and expressed excitement for the path that these future TSTC students have chosen.
“Today students are joining the legacy of more than 100,000 graduates across our 10 locations,” Ramirez said. “We are excited to have this new group of future technicians with us, and we look forward to serving you.”
